Bac Giang Union of Friendship Organizations holds 3rd Convention

(Vietpeace) The Bac Giang Union of Friendship Organization(BGUFO) held the 3rd Convention on November 9th in Bac Giang province.


The Convention saw the presence of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Van, Secretary General of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO); Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Than Van Khoa, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Bac Giang Province; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong and Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council; and representatives of the provincial friendship associations, departments, and agencies…

At the convention, Mr. Duong Van Luan, BGUFO’s Secretary General, made a report on the results of  last tenure and the orientations for the next tenure.

In 2008 – 2013 period, BGUFO has made great efforts in implementation of people-to-people diplomacy and achieved positive results, significantly contributing to the provincial people-to-people diplomacy.

Addressing at the Convention, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Van highly appreciated the outcomes of BGUFO’s Convention and the provincial leaders’ support to the BGUFO’s development. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Van also suggested possible solutions to some challenges facing BGUFO.

On behalf VUFO’s leaders, Mrs. Hoang Van presented BGUFO a laudatory writing; 6 medals and 6 Certificates of Merits to outstanding individuals and 3 Certificates of Merits to groups in recognition of their significant contributions to the provincial people-to-people diplomacy.

Mr. Tran Sy Thanh spoke highly of the Convention’s good results, and affirmed BGUFO’s role in the implementation of the provincial socio-economic development. He expected that BGUFO would have more positive contribution to the provincial foreign affairs service.

The convention elected a 31 - member Executive Board. Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee was re-elected Chairman./.
