The Malaysia - Viet Nam Friendship Association (MVFA) has launched its first-ever women's healthcare programme in partnership with KPJ Healthcare Group, one of Southeast Asia's leading private healthcare providers.

The event drew more than 50 Vietnamese women and their families to KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital for comprehensive health consultations and free medical screenings.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Shahrul Nizam Ahmad Zamzali, head of Emergency Medicine at the hospital, expressed his honour in collaborating with the friendship association to raise public awareness about healthcare, especially for women. He committed to expanding the programme to other states with significant Vietnamese populations, including Johor and Penang.

MVFA President Tran Thi Chang described the event as the beginning of a comprehensive healthcare support system for Vietnamese nationals in Malaysia, highlighting plans for future collaboration targeting a broader range of community members, such as migrant workers, students, and long-term settlers.

Participants also benefited from basic blood tests, physical therapy consultations, nutritional product samples, and opportunities to register for cancer and cardiovascular screening packages designed for women and the elderly./.
