COPI (US) Provides Free Medical Check-Ups for Nearly 1,000 People in Quang Nam

From May 23 to 29, Children of Peace International (COPI/US), in coordination with the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, organized free dental check-ups, oral hygiene education, and gift distribution for nearly 1,000 students and residents in Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.

The program took place at Le Van Tam Secondary School (Dien Tien Commune), Huynh Thuc Khang Primary School, and the health station of Dien Hong Commune (Dien Ban Town), with the participation of medical professionals from COPI.

Residents received dental examinations and treatment for oral diseases, along with guidance on proper oral hygiene practices to prevent illness and promote dental health. Additionally, the program provided practical gifts such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, combs, and nail clippers to students and community members participating in the check-ups.

Approximately 1,000 individuals benefited from the services, supported by non-project aid worth VND 137.7 million, sponsored by COPI.

According to Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, COPI has been active in Viet Nam since 1997, consistently organizing annual humanitarian medical missions across various provinces and cities, including Quang Nam. Each mission typically supports over 1,000 patients, with a special focus on disadvantaged groups.

The Union regularly receives, connects, and mobilizes humanitarian aid from international non-governmental organizations. Programs such as these free medical check-ups are considered timely and practical, particularly in the context of many poor people still facing challenges in accessing quality healthcare services.
