Chief Representative of CARE International awarded the medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations”

(Vietpeace) Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Mr.Don Tuan Phong, at the VUFO’s headquarters on April 3rd, warmly received Mr. Peter Newsum, former Chief Representative of CARE International in Vietnam and his successor, Ms. Claudia Futterknecht.


Mr. Don Tuan Phong highly appreciated Mr. Peter Newsum’s contributions to the deployment of humanitarian activities in Vietnam, and  hoped that he will continue to support Vietnam and have  positive contributions on his new position.

Mr. Don Tuan Phong, on behalf of VUFO’s leaders,  awarded the medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” to Mr.  Peter Newsum before finishing his working term in Vietnam.

CARE International in Vietnam is a non-governmental organization operating on the non-profit basis, a member of the CARE International network. CARE International in Vietnam has made positive contributions to the development of Vietnam in such fields as natural resources and environment, health care, social issues…

Mr. Peter Newsum expressed his honour to receive VUFO's noble medal. He has been working in Vietnam since 2007. As Chief Representative of CARE International in Vietnam, he has focused concerns on the issues of climate change and socio- economic development. He hoped to have opportunity to return to Vietnam in order to have  much more contributions in humanitarian activities in Vietnam./.
