President Phan Anh Son emphasized that educational cooperation forms the foundation and driving force of Viet Nam-Russia relations, in which Saint Petersburg State University plays an especially significant role. It is the place where President Ho Chi Minh first encountered the ideals of the Great October Revolution - an extraordinary historical connection.
Dr. Sergey Andryushin, Vice Rector for International Affairs of Saint Petersburg State University, expressed solidarity with the people of Viet Nam. He noted that the university has, to date, signed several memoranda of understanding with Viet Nam National University, Hanoi, and hopes to expand cooperation with more universities in Vietnam in fields such as artificial intelligence and information technology.
Both sides agreed that in the future, exchanges and mutual learning activities aimed at expanding educational cooperation should include representatives from the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations as well as various Vietnamese universities. These will be practical initiatives to strengthen mutual understanding and promote solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
