Addressing the opening ceremony for the festival, Vice President of Vietnam – USA Society Bui The Giang noted that this year, Vietnam and the US celebrate the 28th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties (July 11/1995-2023), Nhan Dan reported.
Giang affirmed that the Vietnam - USA Cultural Festival 2023, being the first of its kind, was among the practical activities to contribute to strengthening the relations and friendship between the people of the two countries.
Speaking at the event, the Chairwoman of the Hanoi Association for Communication and Public Relations Pham Thanh Ha said that the festival brought unique and impressive cultural experiences to about 500 visitors on the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day and was expected to enhance the linkage, the mutual understanding and trust of the peoples.

For example, the check-in area with American-style Harley Davidsons models is where visitors can take photos in the American Western style. This activity attracted a large number of Harley Davidsons fans in Hanoi.

Meanwhile, at the culinary show, visitors to the festival also enjoyed the delicious dishes by famous chefs from many restaurants and brands in Vietnam's capital city.

The programs also featured art performances by Hanoi children and comedy performances highlighting distinct styles of the two cultures of Vietnam and the US, guidance on studying and working aboard.

At the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts, various booths featuring the products of many enterprises around the country and abroad attracted numerous visitors. Representatives from businesses and the event’s organizers also attended a friendly networking event to share experiences in operation and management.
According to the Organizing committee, the Vietnam – USA Cultural Festival will be held annually, towards boosting cultural exchange and trade promotion, as well as introduce opportunities for to study and travel in the US for Vietnamese people and vice versa.
