Nghi spoke highly of the sentiments and contributions of Oliveira as well as ABRAVIET to Vietnam over the past time, and expressed his hope to receive more support from them in friendship activities and people-to-people exchanges, especially in 2024 when the two countries celebrate the 35th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (May 8, 1989) and the 17th anniversary of the bilateral comprehensive partnership (May 2007).

The ambassador suggested the two countries strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, science-technology, culture, sports, and tourism on the basis of the close friendship.

He also called on Oliveira and Brazilian friends to continue working as a bridge, introducing the ambassador to leaders, experts, and localities in Brazil.

Earlier, Nghi presented a copy of his credentials to Brazilian First Foreign Minister Maria Laura da Rocha who pledged that her country will continue to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in many fields.

The Brazilian official said that her ministry will implement policies and orientations worked out by leaders of the two sides, and prepare for activities to mark the 35th anniversary of the Brazil-Vietnam diplomatic relations in 2024.

She expressed her belief that Nghi will fulfill all of his tasks, making positive contributions to the bilateral relations./.
