On September 19, the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association had a working session with the delegation of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association led by Sanan Angubolkul, president of the Association on their visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, leaders of the two countries' Friendship Associations discussed in detail four common plans that were proposed at the 11th annual joint meeting between the two associations in August 2022.

They discussed how to implement cooperation activities to be more substantive and effective.

The two associations agreed on the principle of organizing the Thailand-Vietnam Business Forum in November.

The event is expected to take place in 1 day, with the participation of about 400-500 Vietnamese and Thai businesses, focusing on cultural exchange, young entrepreneurs, and startups.

This is an activity to celebrate the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) taking place in Thailand in November 2022. It is also an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to learn about investment experiences and discuss cooperation content.

The two associations discussed the organization plan, the specific time, the content, and the participants of the forum.

Ta Quang Ngoc, president of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association suggested that from now until mid-October 2022, the two associations should prepare a script with the above contents to coordinate with each other, along with Embassies and state agencies in each country.

At the meeting, the two associations also agreed to promote the twin provinces of Udon Thani and Thai Nguyen with the hope that they become a model for cultural, economic, and tourism cooperation.

Sanan Angubolkul said that during the visit to Thai Nguyen (September 20), the association will visit GO! of Central Retail Group in Vietnam. The trip aims to consider bringing Thai goods into this system and also find a way to bring more Vietnamese products to Thailand.

Commenting on the plan of the twin provinces of Udon Thani and Thai Nguyen, Ta Quang Ngoc suggested that this plan should be included in the action plan immediately with specific tasks. The two associations play a supporting role, while Thai Nguyen and Udon Thani provincial leaders are the decision-makers.

He said Thai Nguyen has universities with many students. Therefore, he proposed to promote friendly exchanges between students combined with tourism.

He also said that they should organize an exchange of OCOP products of the twin sister provinces particularly as well as Thailand and Vietnam in general.

The two Associations also agreed to establish a working group to solve problems in the operation process for more effective coordination, first of all on the hospital project in Nghe An.

Regarding the project of granting scholarships to Vietnamese students, the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association said it would continue to implement it.

Currently, CP Group has granted 2 scholarships to Vietnamese students and selected 3 new students to enjoy this group's scholarships.

The Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association proposed that the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association support students to soon complete the application and procedures to study in Thailand.

Central Group of Thailand is also expected to grant 3 scholarships to Vietnamese students next year.
