Guangxi Province Hosts 10th ASEAN-China Young Leaders Exchange Festival

At the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Foreign Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations sent a delegation to attend the 10th AEAN-China Young Leaders Exchange Festival in Guangxi province, China from May 20 to May 24, 2024.

The exchange festival was held by the Chinese People's Foreign Friendship Association with Foreign Countries, the China-ASEAN Association in collaboration with the Guangxi Provincial People's Foreign Friendship Association. More than 100 delegates, including about 70 delegates representing youth and friendship organizations of nine ASEAN countries participated in the event.

The opening ceremony of the festival, themed "Youth Joins Hands to Build the Future," was held on May 21, 2024, in Nanning, Guangxi province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yuan Mindao, stated that young people are the most dynamic and creative people, as well as the driving force for global development in the future.

In addition, he said that the festival provides an opportunity for ASEAN young to feel, experience, and gain knowledge about China. The Vice President hoped that delegates would overcome language and national barriers, communicate sincerely, and strengthen beautiful friendships.

The festival's highlight is the ASEAN-China Youth Forum. At the Forum, student delegates discussed the festival's role and significance in establishing connections, promoting exchanges, and understanding between youth from ASEAN countries and China, thereby joining hands to build a better future.

Ha Tran Minh Phuong, a student of the Academy of Journalism and Communication of Viet Nam, delivered a speech emphasizing the festival's role in promoting connection, sharing experiences, learning from others, and strengthening understanding and cooperation among ASEAN and Chinese youth.

The outstanding young people attending the forum are responsible for bringing knowledge, experience, and connections to serve the country and strive to become ambassadors of international friendship and cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of the ASEAN-China relationship through increased exchanges, dialogue, and promotion of cooperation among young leaders, who play an important role in the future development of relations.

Within the framework of the program, delegates had the opportunity to experience the landscapes, national culture and socio-economic development of China through many meaningful activities such as visiting the Guangdong Ethnic Museum, China-ASEAN Information Port, China-Singapore Logistics Park, China -ASEAN Commodity Exchange, Liuzhou Industrial Museum, SAIC-Wuling Baojun Joint Venture Group, Liugong Group - China's leading construction machinery manufacturer, and taking a cruise to explore the Liujiang river.

Speaking at the festival's closing ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National Assembly of China and President of the China-ASEAN Association Gu Xiulian said that China and ASEAN countries are geographically close, have close relationships, and share a future.

Entering a new era, under the strategic guidance of leaders of ASEAN countries and Chinese General Secretary, President Xi Jinping, China and ASEAN countries have written a new chapter of people-to-people cooperation. She expressed her hope that through the festival, the youth of China and ASEAN countries will increase exchanges, share experiences, develop together, and strive to inherit Asian civilization, thereby promoting Asian common prosperity and human progress.

At the event to celebrate the festival's success, the Vietnamese delegation with delegations from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand brought musical performances. The unique characteristics of each country have contributed to creating a colorful gala.

In particular, Viet Nam's singing performance "Co Doi Thuong Ngan" with a combination of music, lyrics, and dance imbued with the humanistic and creative values ​​of folk arts performing serving the beliefs of Vietnamese people has left a deep impression on international guests and delegates attending the festival.
