Ho Chi Minh City's Charity Group Builds Two Bridges in Ca Mau Province

Two rural bridges, sponsored by the Vong Tay Viet Nam charity group, have been inaugurated in the southernmost province of Ca Mau

Representatives of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ca Mau Province, along with sponsors and representatives of the local government, cut the ribbon to inaugurate Long Ong Bridge.

The Vong Tay Viet Nam charity group, based in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ca Mau Province and the local government held the inauguration and put into use Kenh Long Ong Bridge (Tran Van Thoi District) and Ben Ma bridge (Phu Tan district).

They also gave gifts to poor students in the two above-mentioned districts. The activity is part of the charity program conducted by the Vong Tay Viet Nam group.

Kenh Long Ong Bridge (Von Tre hamlet, Khanh Loc commune, Tran Van Thoi district) has a length of 32m, a width of 2m, designed with reinforced concrete, with a total construction cost of VND 160 million (USD 6.800). The Vong Tay Viet Nam group campaigned Pham Thanh Huyen, a philanthropist living in Thao Dien Ward, District 2, HCM City, to donate all funds for the construction of Kenh Long Ong bridge.

Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate Ben Ma Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Ben Ma bridge project (Go Cong Dong hamlet, Nguyen Viet Khai commune, Phu Tan district) has a length of 46m, a width of 2m, designed according to reinforced concrete structure, with total cost of VND 230 million (USD 9.700). The project was sponsored by two HCM City residents Nguyen Thi Ha and Mai Le Thanh Lich.

This is also a work to welcome the Phu Tan District Farmers' Union Congress, 2023 - 2028 term.

According to the Ca Mau Union of Friendship Organizations, the two above-mentioned rural bridges, when put into use, will contribute to creating favorable conditions for local people in traveling and doing business, while ensuring safety and convenience for students to go to school.

On this occasion, Nguyen Tiet Tri, leader of the Vong Tay Viet Nam charity group and members gave many meaningful gifts including bicycles, rice, noodles and school supplies to the students living in difficult circumstances.
