Hungarian thankful letter sent to Vietnam–Hungary Friendship Association for Covid-19 fight assistance

(Vufo) Őry Csaba, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam has sent a letter of appreciation to President of the Vietnam–Hungary Friendship Association for its face mask donation to the European country in an assistance to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

10,500 face masks arrived to Hungarian Embassy.

Recently, the Vietnam–Hungary Friendship Association has donated 10,500 face masks to Hungary. Ambassador Csaba Őry has sent a letter of appreciation to President of Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association Nguyen Dang Vang and made sure that the donation would get to Hungary in order to help the fight against coronavirus.

To date, the relationship between Hungary – Vietnam has lasted for 70 years (1950 – 2020). What could better demonstrate the strength of the relationship than willingness to help each other, especially when the entire world is facing a truly unprecedented situation arising out of coronavirus.

The Vietnamese community in Hungary has also joined hands with local authorities in the fight against the pandemic. Medical face masks, cloth masks, and protective gloves have been mobilised among overseas Vietnamese in Hungary to present to local hospitals and health centres.

The sought-after items have been bought by Vietnamese volunteers in just one week raising fund.

Ambassador Csaba Őry expressed its gratitude to the Association’s determination to combat the disease, as well as the strength of the Hungary-Vietnamese friendship.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hungary has increased to 980, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The coronavirus death toll in Hungary has increased to 66, up from 58 yesterday. The youngest of the eight new victims was 48 years old.

The number of recoveries stands at 96, an increase of two compared to April 8.

The Hungarian government has decided to extend the curfew restrictions currently in place indefinitely, according to an announcement posted on Facebook by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán./.
