LVAP Director Awarded Friendship Medal of Socialist Republic of Vietnam

(Vietpeace) Under the authorization of the State President Truong Tan Sang, on July 9 in HCM City, VUFO President Vu Xuan Hong conferred Friendship Medal of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Ms Patricia Ellen Franklin - Founder and Country Director of Loreto Vietnam - Australia Program (LVAP) for her contributions to education, healthcare, humanitarian affairs and infrastructure as well as the Vietnam - Australia friendship relationship enhancement.

Mr. Hong highly appreciated her 20 years of love and dedication to Vietnam and expected her further supports for children in Vietnam and the world. “She is the symbol of the friendship cooperation relations between Vietnam and Australia”, Mr. Hong remarked.

Ms P.E. Franklin, usually known and called as “Sister Trish”, touchingly said: “Vietnam’s always in my heart” when receiving the Friendship Medal.
“Working for Loreto is not a job, it’s my life for Vietnamese children”, she shared.

In the ceremony, Australian Consul General to Vietnam John McAnulty, National Executive Director of AusCham Phil John and representatives of HUFO were also present.

Also at the ceremony, Mr John McAnulty said Ms. Franklin is “a legend, an angel, a truthful friend of Vietnamese children and a friendship bridge connecting Australian and Vietnamese people”./.
