Lao Students In Son La Conquer Vietnamese Language

Since 2015, more than 3,000 Lao students have studied in the northern mountainous province of Son La. After graduation, many of them have returned home and became key officials in government agencies, actively contributing to the development of their homeland.

Son La College has just organized the extracurricular titled "Lao International Students - Journey with Vietnamese Language" in 2024.

Participating in extracurriculars, 5 teams went through 3 rounds. In the talent round, with a duration of 8-10 minutes, teams choose to sing, dance, recite poetry, perform musical instruments, praise solidarity and friendship, praising the homelands.

The comprehension test is crossword puzzle solving. In the storytelling competition, with a duration of 8-10 minutes, each team chooses to tell a story about one of the two leaders - President Ho Chi Minh or President Kaysone Phomvihane.

At the end of the extracurricular, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to the Vietnamese Language class K22C; awarded 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes to the other winning teams. In addition, additional prizes were also presented for the best talent performer and the best storyteller.

Through extracurriculars, create a friendly atmosphere between Laotian students and students and teachers at school, help international students practice listening, and speaking skills, and expand their daily and learning vocabulary; learn more about the heroic historical land of Son La, and the deep and faithful relationship between the people of Viet Nam and Laos.

In recent years, the training of Laotian students has been one of the important political tasks of Son La province in cooperation with education and training with other Lao provinces.

From 2015 to 2023, there will be nearly 3,000 Lao students studying in Son La. Among them, more than 2,000 Lao students have completed the training program. Currently, nearly 1,000 students study at Tay Bac University, Son La College, Son La Medical College, and Son La Culture, Arts and Tourism College. In addition, the Vietnamese language training system for officials has trained more than 600 trainees, who have returned to contribute to the development of their homeland.

Many Lao international students, after graduating, returned home to work and held important and key positions in state agencies, serving well in the cause of building and developing their motherland.

Son La province has had many solutions, programs, and plans to concretize the Party and State's policies on cooperation in training human resources for Laos. Since 1969, Son La has helped other provinces train officials. Up to now, thousands of officials, pupils, and students from Northern Laos provinces have studied at educational establishments in the province.

In addition, Son La also issued policies to support Lao international students while studying at universities, colleges, and intermediate schools in the province.
