These systems are set to transform the agricultural landscape of Anouvong and Thathom districts.

Viengsan Chantha, Chief of the Office of the Laos-Viet Nam Cooperation Committee, expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for their support over the past years, particularly in aiding Lao localities facing infrastructure development challenges.

Viengsan Chantha underscored the critical need for joint efforts to effectively utilise these irrigation systems that meets the expectations of both Parties and Governments, ultimately contributing to the continued strengthening of the special bond and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam.

Jointly managed by Viet Nam's COECCO Economic Cooperation Corporation and Xaysomboun authorities, the project costs more than 159.2 billion VND (6.63 million USD), with the Vietnamese Government contributing over 157.2 billion VND and Laos providing the remaining funds.

Once operational, these systems will serve agricultural production in the beneficiary districts, facilitating the production of commodities to gradually eliminate poverty for local residents./.
