In his opening remark, VUFO President Phan Anh Son said that the construction of VUFO's Development Strategy takes place as many changes are happening in the international situation, leaving great impacts on the implementation of Vietnam's foreign policy orientation. At the same time, Party and State leaders set out new requirements for foreign affairs, particularly people-to-people diplomacy. Most importantly, it is due to VUFO's internal requirements to innovate and improve its operational efficiency.

VUFO's Development Strategy to 2030 determines the development perspective, mission, vision, strategic goals, core values, and solutions to implement the Strategy to the year 2030.

The conference received enthusiastic and responsible contributions from the delegates. They agreed on and appreciated VUFO's construction of an elaborate and methodical development strategy. They made specific suggestions on highlighting VUFO's position and role, improving the quality of research, consultation, and staff training, and improving the salary regime for officers and employees. They also discussed measures to effectively implement strategic goals.

Delegates expressed their expectation that the strategy, once approved, will promote practical actions, contributing to the stronger development of people-to-people foreign affairs.

Concluding the conference, VUFO President Phan Anh Son highly appreciated the profound and enthusiastic contributions of the delegates. He stated that he would assign the drafting team to absorb suitable comments. The process to receive ideas will continue to meet the will and aspirations of member organizations in the VUFO system.
