Mobilizing Resources to Elevate Viet Nam's Position

The speakers not only mentioned the challenges and potential of Viet Nam in the context of many unpredictable developments in the world, but also made proposals on mobilizing capital, human resources and technology to contribute to raising Viet Nam's position on the world economic and geopolitical map.

Nearly 100 Vietnamese and Vietnamese-origin people from 20 countries gathered at the Viet Nam Global Leaders Forum (VGLF 2024) held in Paris on March 30-31, VNA reported.

They are outstanding doctors and experts in science, economy, social affairs, environment, arts and religion.

The forum is the convergence of knowledge, spirit, energy and the quintessence of the Vietnamese culture, said Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong, director of international development research at IPAG Business School (France) and President of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France (AVSE Global) – the organizer of VGLF 2024.

Amidst evolving, unpredictable international environment, Viet Nam needs to seek its own path towards sustainability, equality and prosperity, he said, adding that the forum offers an opportunity for Vietnamese-origin individuals to compare notes on how to help Viet Nam “thrive in change.”

Some participants told VNA that national construction requires strong human resources, stressing the need to grow a pool of talents, and provide policy support for them.

The AVSE Global, whose predecessor was the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France, was established in Paris in 2011 with a view to connecting overseas Vietnamese scientists and experts to capitalize on their potential.

Relying on over 300 permanent members in more than 20 countries regularly working on strategic projects and collaborating with 2.000 collaborative experts and 10.000 connected experts, AVSE Global implements strategic programmes and projects promoting Viet Nam's sustainable development.

It has been implementing a number of programmes to support the homeland’s development. Its activities cover five main areas, namely organizing annual workshops and forums, mostly in Viet Nam, about different development topics; projects giving consultancy to central agencies, localities, and businesses; high-level training programmes; innovation projects; projects on research and development and foreign investment attraction.

The AVSE Global has set up 11 different networks of Vietnamese intellectuals to carry out those areas of activities.
