Lam expressed gratitude to the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, the State, National Assembly, Government of Laos and the Lao Front for National Development for their heartfelt messages of condolences and the high-ranking delegation's attendance at the two-day state funeral. He highlighted this gesture as a reflection of the deep fraternal bond, close relationship, and unwavering solidarity between the two Parties, countries and their people.

Reflecting on General Secretary Trong's legacy, President Lam noted that the late leader consistently devoted special attention to the Lao revolution, fostering close and friendly relations with Lao leaders, including Sisoulith. He said Trong’s commitment to the solidarity among the Parties, countries, and people of Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia was unwavering, viewing it as vital for the security and development of each nation.

The host expressed confidence that under General Secretary Sisoulith's leadership, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party will successfully realise the resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, effectively hold Party congresses at all levels leading up to the 12th National Party Congress, and excel in its role as the Chair of ASEAN and AIPA in 2024.

General Secretary Sisoulith conveyed profound condolences and sorrow from the Lao Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and the Lao Front for National Development to their Vietnamese counterparts. He highlighted the tremendous contributions of General Secretary Trong to the Lao revolution and the Laos-Viet Nam friendship. He reminisced about his meetings with the late Vietnamese leader, stressing that his passing is a tremendous loss not only for the Vietnamese Party, State, and people but also for their Lao counterparts.

Sisoulith also took the opportunity to discuss areas of shared concern, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation and mutual support./.
