At the meeting, Secretary Tian Weidong provided an overview of Dezhou’s socio-economic development. He noted that the city has a population of approximately 5.9 million, with a GDP of 60 billion USD in 2024. Dezhou has seen robust growth in industries such as chemicals, machinery, information technology, semiconductors, and agriculture. In 2024, the import-export turnover between Dezhou and Viet Nam reached 2.8 billion yuan, an increase of 48.6% compared to 2023.

Secretary Tian also emphasized the great potential for cooperation in the field of sports equipment, as Dezhou is one of the world’s leading centers for the production of commercial sports equipment.
VUFO President Phan Anh Son introduced the functions, responsibilities, and partners of VUFO, while also putting forward several specific proposals for cooperation in the coming time. He suggested promoting delegations of Vietnamese enterprises and local representatives with potential to visit and explore cooperation opportunities with Dezhou, as well as delegations to work with universities and Party schools in Shandong Province.
President Phan Anh Son proposed that Dezhou City strengthen people-to-people exchanges with Vietnamese localities and establish a sister-city relationship with a Vietnamese province or city, thereby creating a foundation for Dezhou enterprises to invest in Viet Nam.

In the field of agriculture, President Phan Anh Son affirmed that VUFO stands ready to introduce Viet Nam’s leading institutions in crop varieties and agricultural production to facilitate scientific exchanges, academic cooperation, and joint production. He also proposed supporting Dezhou enterprises, such as Heima Group, in establishing connections with partners in Viet Nam.
Secretary Tian Weidong expressed his agreement with the proposals of President Phan Anh Son and pledged to instruct the relevant departments and agencies of Dezhou City to encourage enterprises to actively study and promptly translate ideas for cooperation into concrete actions. He expressed his belief that with the joint efforts of both sides, the friendly cooperative relations between Dezhou and Vietnamese localities will yield even greater achievements, making practical contributions to the consolidation and development of China-Viet Nam friendship.
