A healthy living environment helps us to have good health and work more efficiently. Planting more trees is actively contributing to creating a greener environment the the futuret, helping to reduce the adverse effects of climate change on people. Therefore, every year, Vinh Phuc province effectively implements the Tree Planting Festival launched by the President Ho Chi Minh.

"Ratchaphruek, Thailand’s national flower, was selected to be planted in the program. Twenty-eight trees was planted, will represent the birthday of the King of Thailand, July 28", Quang added.

The representative of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Vinh Phuc province also expressed his wish that the tree planting program would be spread to build a green and peaceful world.

The same day, Le Duy Thanh, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a courtesy visit to Ambassador Nikomdej Balankura and the delegation during which he hoped that in his position, the Thai diplomat would continue to pay attention to, strengthen connections, and promote the cooperative and friendly relationship between Vinh Phuc and Thai partners, especially in the fields of economy, culture, education and tourism.

Ambassador Balankura highly appreciated Vinh Phuc's socio-economic development potential and thanked the provincial leaders' attention and facilitation for businesses, including Thai businesses, when coming to invest.

At the same time, he affirmed that, in addition to cooperation in economic development, trade and education, Vinh Phuc and localities of Thailand can strengthen people-to-people, cultural exchanges and tourism.

The delegation also visited Prime Group - a Thai enterprise doing business in Binh Xuyen district.

The Ratchaphruek (means a royal tree) was only named as Thailand’s national flower in October 2001.

Known locally as the ratchaphruek, the official botanical name of the tree bearing Thailand’s national flower is the Cassia Fistula Linn. The tree might also be called the chaiyaphruek and the actual flower may be referred to as dok koon. The tree is also known as the Golden Shower/Rain Tree because of the vibrant yellow hues of the flowers and the fact that they grow in clusters that seem to tumble from the tree like raindrops.

It usually blooms between February and May. The tree has either leaves or flowers.

Part of the reason the ratchaphruek was chosen as Thailand’s national flower is its bold yellow colour. Yellow is associated with Buddhism, the country’s majority religion. Yellow is also seen as the colour of glory, harmony, and unity.
