VUFO President Meets Vice Foreign Minister of Venezuela to Boost People-to-people Ties

The meeting took place within the framework of Venezuelan Vice Minister Capaya Rodriguez's visit to Vietnam from July 6-10.

Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) received a Venezuelan delegation led by Capaya Rodriguez, Vice Foreign Minister for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania in Hanoi on July 8.

The meeting was also attended by Bui Van Nghi, Head of VUFO's Department of Americas, and General Secretary of the Vietnam - Venezuela Friendship Association.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga welcomed Vice Foreign Minister of Venezuela to visit and work at VUFO and wished Capaya Rodriguez's visit to Vietnam a great success.

VUFO President expressed her delight at the socio-economic development of Venezuela and believed that with the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the unity of the Venezuelan people, the country would overcome difficulties and thrive.

Introducing VUFO's structure and activities, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga said that the Vietnam - Venezuela Friendship Association had been working to develop relations between the two peoples.

Capaya Rodriguez affirmed that Venezuela highly valued ​​friendly relations with Vietnam. Vietnam and Venezuela have many similarities. The two countries have accompanied each other to overcome difficult times. On behalf of the Venezuelan people, the Vice Minister expressed their close feelings and deep gratitude to the Vietnamese people.

Rodriguez emphasized that this was the era for the two countries to develop together. Venezuela hopes to promote relations with Vietnam, not only in the field of politics and diplomacy but among people's organizations. Despite the geographical distance, Vietnam and Venezuela can support and learn from each other towards peace, stability, and development.

Capaya Rodriguez highly appreciated the role of two countries' women in diplomacy. She expressed her delight to meet with resourceful and courageous Vietnamese women who actively contribute to peace and friendship.

On this occasion, Capaya Rodriguez sent greetings from the Venezuelan Foreign Minister to Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga.

Both sides agreed to promote activities to raise young people's understanding of the Vietnam-Venezuela friendship and boost cooperation between the people's organizations of the two countries, contributing to the development of the inherent good relationship.
