This is part of the activities to celebrate the 28th anniversary of Viet Nam - US diplomatic relations and the 10th year of the comprehensive partnership.

According to the Chairman of the Viet Nam - US Friendship Association, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dinh Hong Phong, over nearly 30 years, bilateral ties between Viet Nam and the US have obtained remarkable achievements in all areas and levels.
Since establishing the comprehensive partnership in 2013, cooperation between the two sides has been deepened, especially in trade, investment, education and science and technology, and climate change.
Phong hopes that, with the efforts of the two Governments and peoples, the multifaceted friendship and cooperative relationship between the two peoples will continue to develop in line with the comprehensive partnership.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper affirmed that Viet Nam and the US are closely cooperating in many fields, VNS reported.

"We are very proud that there are now more than 30,000 Vietnamese people studying in the US, making Viet Nam the country with the 5th largest number of international students in the US. We are also very proud of the cooperation between educational institutions, schools in Hanoi, and localities in the US," said Ambassador Knapper.

The diplomat expressed his hope to see more cooperation achievements in the future, affirming that the US has always supported an independent, strong, and prosperous Viet Nam.

Themed “Peace and Friendship”, the event brought to spectators numerous activities such as a painting competition, food festival, art performances, and books donation, among others.
