Speaking at the opening ceremony in Hanoi, Hong highlighted the Viet Nam-Czech close friendship despite the geographical distance, demonstrated through warm, sincere and respectful feelings for each other for many years.

The Vietnamese people always remember the extremely valuable support and assistance, both material and spiritual, of the Czech people in the past struggle to defend the Fatherland and in the future cause of building and defending the country, Hong said, adding that thousands of Vietnamese cadres, engineers and workers have been helped by Czech to study and work.

That affection has also been increasingly strengthened in the new era. Over the past time, the Governments and peoples of the two countries have continuously cultivated the traditional friendship in many fields including politics, economics, culture, education and especially cultural exchange activities and people-to-people diplomacy. The Vietnamese community in Czech is the first Vietnamese community abroad to be recognized as an ethnic minority in 2013; the Czech Government highly appreciates and creates favorable conditions for doing business, living, and integrating in the host country.

Hong hopes that in the coming time, the Czech Embassy in Viet Nam will continue to support the Viet Nam - Czech Friendship Association in organizing more cultural exchange activities, contributing to deepening the friendship between the two nations. Hong voices his hope the mutual relations will develop further, bringing benefits to both sides.
