He made the statement at the regular press conference of the ministry in Hanoi, in reply to reporters’ queries in regards to China’s measures to tackle the disease and their efficiency.

The vice spokesperson stressed that Vietnam highly values efforts of the Chinese government and people to curb and control the disease.

“We believe that under the leadership of the Communist Party and the Government of China, along with the support of international community, the Chinese people will surmount this difficulty, and the epidemic in China and other countries and territories will be put under control,” Viet said.

He added that Vietnam has kept a close watch on the situation in countries with COVID-19 outbreaks.

Following an order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam’s representative offices abroad regularly update on epidemic situation, announce their hotlines and stay in touch with Vietnamese citizens while standing ready to take citizen protection measures when necessary, according to the vice spokesperson.

He affirmed that aside from one confirmed case in China, no Vietnamese citizen in other country is tested positive with the coronavirus.

Regarding this case, the female patient is being treated at a hospital in China’s Jiangxi province and her health is improving, the vice spokesperson noted./.
