India Day - Festival Celebrating Unity in Diversity

The Indian Embassy in Hanoi held the event 'India Day - Festival to Celebrate Unity in Diversity' on March 18 to promote cultural ties between the Indian and Vietnamese communities.

Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya and Nguyen Phuong Nga, president of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, performed a lamp-lighting ceremony before the event.

This is also the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India's Independence Day - also known as "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav", 50 years of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations, India's G20 Presidency and International Year of Millets.

Attending the event were Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya, President of Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, representatives of ministries, branches, friendship organizations, the Indian community and Vietnamese people who love Indian culture in Hanoi

Speaking at the opening ceremony of "India Day," Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga expressed her love for the rich and colorful culture that has made a united India in diversity.

Nguyen Phuong Nga said the event was "a valuable contribution to tighten the friendship and tradition" between the two countries. It gives more impetus to "promote the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing to the development of the two countries and meet the interests of the two peoples.
Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, president of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations spoke at the opening ceremony.

“India Day” is modeled after the traditional Indian festival Kumbh Mela, when the community meets and shares food, cultural exchanges, and handicrafts.

Bringing to Vietnam the image of a country with diverse cultures, the event is an opportunity for the people of the two countries to bond and strengthen friendship.

It also spreads the image of the country and Indian people unite in diversity, opening up new prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

Sharing the expectations of developing bilateral cooperation, besides scholarship opportunities, Ambassador Sandeep Arya said that India will bring fast-impact projects in 10 provinces and cities of Vietnam to support people in remote areas, strengthen connectivity and promote cooperation between the two countries.
