Deputy Minister of National Defense Hoang Xuan Chien and Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki inked the document.

The project aims to support the Viet Nam Mine Action Center (VNMAC) to carry out mine clearance efforts.

Under the project, equipment such as tree-cutting machines and mine clearance devices using advanced technology from Japanese companies will be provided to the VNMAC, with the aim to promote the clearance of unexploded ordnance (UXO).

The Japanese Ambassador expressed his hope that thanks to the project, mine clearance activities in contaminated areas, especially in the central province of Quang Nam, will be accelerated, helping to create a safe environment for local residents./.
