Korean Ambassador to Vietnam paid a visit and courtesy greeting to VUFO

(VUFO) President of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga in the meeting with Korean Ambassador to Vietnam PhD Park Noh-wan when he paid a visit and courtesy greeting to VUFO on Tuesday's morning July 14 expressed her high appreciation on Korean friends.

The meeting was present with Korean Ambassador to Vietnam PhD. Park Noh-wan; Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) President Nguyen Phuong Nga, the representatives of Political Committee - Korean Embassy in Vietnam and VUFO's Asia - Africa Department.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Park Noh-wan congratulated Vietnam's impressive results in the fight against COVID-19 and said that South Korea highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts and success. The Korean government is also learning Vietnam's measures and achievements to prevent the COVID-19.

The Ambassador affirmed that Korea focused on restoring after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for Korean businesses working in Vietnam. He also expressed thanks to President Nguyen Phuong Nga and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for support and favorable conditions  created to the Korean Embassy in Vietnam last time and wishes to have more further opportunities to exchange and cooperate with VUFO in the future.

On this occasion, President Nguyen Phuong Nga also congratulated PhD Park Noh-wan for his new position as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Vietnam and expressed her belief that the new term of the Ambassador would be successful and achieving many important results contributing to the development of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.

The VUFO President valued ​​the contributions of Korean friends and thanked the Ambassador, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association in Vietnam for their close cooperation with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations as well as the Vietnam - Korea  Friendship Association in many activities of exchanging and people-to-people relationship. In particular, the two sides have collaborated to organize conferences of providing more information to two countries' people on the mutual development and the East Sea's situation.

In the context of the epidemic, Korean businesses have endeavored to maintain operations in Vietnam to support the uninterrupted economic activities. 

VUFO shares the Ambassador's concerns of Korean workers, experts, citizens working in Vietnam and hopes them possibly return to Vietnam soon as well as the resumption of commercial flights between the two countries.
 
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga emphasized that while paying special attention to protect people's lives and health, it was also necessary to take measures and create conditions for the economic recovery, ensuring trade between countries. Therefore, VUFO strongly supported the Ambassador's proposals to further strengthen people-to-people relations between the two countries. For example, the initiative on the Program of Employee's Weekend Holiday contributes to both economic development and  friendship promotion.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga once again thanked the Ambassador and acknowledged the contributions paid by Korean non-governmental organizations helping Vietnam before the COVID-19 pandemic, such as healing war wounds, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, training skills, especially in the field of health when building gratitude houses ... In the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Korean non-governmental organizations also actively supported Vietnam.

The President welcomed initiatives of exchanging and cooperation between Korean NGOs and VUFO in the future for better achievements, also affirmed that: "In the future, we will continue to further strengthen cooperation between VUFO and the Korean Embassy as well as with the Korean people-to-people relationship partners".
