Long An: Strengthening People-To-People Exchanges Between Viet Nam And India

The Union of Friendship Organizations of Long An province coordinated with Can Giuoc district and Long An International Port to organize people-to-people exchanges with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and the Friendship Association of Viet Nam-India on May 14.

This is an activity aimed at strengthening people-to-people exchanges, solidarity, and friendship between Viet Nam and India by introducing to the Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City the beauty and strength of the city.

Madan Mohan Sethi - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City - spoke at the meeting.

Visiting and working at Long An International Port, Madan Mohan Sethi - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City – said he has been in Viet Nam for more than 3 years and seen a Viet Nam highly developed in all fields. Vietnam will certainly become an economic powerhouse in Southeast Asia.

Madan Mohan Sethi said that in Long An, many projects and industrial parks are calling for investment and wish to cooperate with businesses globally, including India. Therefore, Can Giuoc district and units in Long An province need information about proposals to connect with companies in India to expand cooperation opportunities between the two countries. India has large corporations that are paying close attention to port cooperation in Viet Nam.

Leaders of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Long An province presented souvenirs to the Consul General of India and his spouse at the meeting.

He also highly appreciated the strategic location, development vision of Long An International Port, and connection proposals to open up opportunities for cooperation between the Port and Indian businesses in the future.

On the business trip, the delegation also visited the ecosystem of Long An International Port such as the wharf, warehouse system, industrial park, service area, and the tallest flagpole in Indochina to understand the potential for cooperation in this field.

Before that, the delegation visited and offered incense at the Park – Monument of Long An, where many images, artifacts, and documents depict people in Long An fighting bravely to protect the country on the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the unification of Viet Nam.
