RoK’s volunteers build houses for the poor in Thai Nguyen

(VNF) - From April 1st to 4th, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) in cooperation with Dai Tu District People's Committee, Thai Nguyen Department of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies welcomed volunteers from Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company (SGI), an largest guarantee organisation of South Korea having a branch in Vietnam, to directly build houses, in order to improve the living environment for needy people in Khoi Ky commune, Dai Tu district.

Over 30 volunteers from SGI's charity group along with HFHI staff, engineers directly worked on mortar, wall and plasterings in three households to help needy people have a decent place to live. Old houses would be replaced by new, safe houses.

“For Koreans, the meaning of house is special. A house is not just a place for meals and sleep, but a place of hope, good memories and security for someone”, shared Se Joon Huh, Seoul Guarantee Insurance managing director on the occasion of house dedication ceremony on April 4th.

The South Korean company, established in 1969, set up a representative office in Vietnam in 2007.

It has been providing guarantee services through reinsurance companies to South Korean companies and individuals in Vietnam as well as local companies./.
