Press release: Comingo delegation visit to US

From 03rd to 08th December, 2017, the delegation of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Affair (COMINGO), led by Don Tuan Phong, member of the National Assembly XIV, member of the Commission for Foreign Relations of National Assembly, member of the Viet Nam - US Friendship Parliamentary Association, Vice President in-charge of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Vice President of COMINGO, will pay a visit to United States.

The mission is aim to share information on Viet Nam's situation, needs and priorities in developing and promoting partnerships with various partners for poverty reduction and sustainable development of Viet Nam. 

The delegation will work with United States Congresses, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and non - governmental organizations active in Viet Nam.

In particular, on December 4, the delegation will coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States to hold a seminar on Viet Nam with the main topic promoting people – to – people diplomacy and cooperation in some fields including settlement of the war consequences, support for the disabled, mitigation of natural disasters, response to climate change, etc. The seminar will attract a large number of non-governmental organizations, businesses and individuals, who have contributed to the process of normalization and development of bilateral relations. 

On this occasion, the Viet Nam - US Association, a member of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), and the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), will sign the Memorandum of Understanding for the term of 2017-2022.
