Principle and Objectives:
The Viet Nam – Laos Friendship Association (VLFA) is a social organization of Vietnamese citizens and organizations interested in or operating in the field of people-to-people diplomacy with Laos, voluntarily established, with the purpose of gathering and uniting members and organizing activities. People's diplomacy between Viet Nam and Laos is effective.
The Association’s purpose is to contribute to strengthening understanding between the two peoples, consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, for the benefit of the two peoples, for the peace, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia and the world, contributing to the country's socio-economic development.

Main activities:
- Educating and propagandizing about the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos;
Some notable activities include introducing and propagating the important historical documents "History of the special relationship and combat alliance between Viet Nam and Laos" at all levels of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association and the mass; organize "returning to the origin" activities, thematic talks, seminars, and exchanges between the young generation and Vietnamese volunteers in Laos, competitions about relations between the two countries; publishing a bilingual special issues on Viet Nam - Laos relations...;
- Activities to strengthen friendly exchanges, solidarity and cooperation between the people of the two countries;
Organizing activities on the occasion of the anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and signing the Viet Nam - Laos friendship and cooperation treaty (notably the Viet Nam - Laos People's Friendship Festival activities held every 5 years alternately in each country since 2007);
- Organizing gratitude activities and humanitarian support. Organizing and coordinating with the Laos – Viet Nam Friendship Association to organize gratitude activities for heroic martyrs of the two countries, Vietnamese former volunteer veterans, military experts in Laos, supporting the construction of charity houses, classrooms, helping Lao victims of natural disasters, and Lao people in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic...;
- Activities contribute to promoting educational cooperation, cultural and sports exchanges between Viet Nam and Laos;
Including activities that contribute to taking care of Lao students studying in Viet Nam, welcoming delegations of Lao alumni to visit Viet Nam, organizing cultural and artistic exchange activities to commemorate Laos' and Viet Nam's events, organizing sports exchanges with Lao delegations...;
- Activities to strengthen the relationship between the two countries' Friendship Associations through regular visits, exchange of information about each other, coordinating in the activities of gratitude and rewards to organizations and individuals having active contributions to the relationship between the two countries...;
- Activities to build and develop the organization by organizing Congresses, meetings of the Standing Committee, Standing Committee, and Executive Committee of the Association, organizing national meeting, coordinating with provinces and cities of the Association in implementing Association activities.
