Lao, Cambodian Students in Ho Chi Minh City Join Exchange with Vietnamese Peers

It is one of many exchanges for young people, aiming to give children an understanding of the traditional good relations among the three countries.

The 2024 Viet Nam - Laos - Cambodia Student Exchange Camp was hosted on April 20 - 21 by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in Binh Thuan province, spotlighting the solidarity of the three countries’ youth.

This event attracted the participation of students from Ho Chi Minh City and their peers from Cambodia and Laos studying at academies, universities, and colleges in the city.

Within the framework of the camp, students had the opportunity to visit historical relics, and places providing social security support for the needy, and participate in volunteer activities for the community. In particular, young delegates offered incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Binh Thuan branch of Ho Chi Minh Museum.

The students also visited the Duc Thanh School historical relic site, where President Ho Chi Minh left an important mark in his journey to find a way to save the country; and the Phan Thiet Water Tower, a famous architectural project was designed by the Lao President Souphanouvong - a preeminent and beloved leader of the Lao people and also big and close friend of Viet Nam.

Coming to Mui Ne Fishing Village, the students joined hands to participate in environmental sanitation and trash removal activities, to call on everyone to take action for the environment and the sea.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union also awarded 15 scholarships to children and students of Binh Thuan province.

Shared her feelings about receiving a scholarship for the new semester, Pham Thi Cam Duyen, a student from Phan Thiet University, said that a scholarship not only helps reduce the burden for her family but is also an encouragement and positive energy from students from the city. This helps Duyen be more confident in life and can aim to realize her own dreams.

The 2024 Viet Nam - Laos - Cambodia student exchange camp is an annual traditional activity, held on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay festival of the Lao tribal people and the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay of the Cambodian people.

The goal of the camp is to provide a useful and meaningful playground for students to exchange culture, learn about each other, and build cooperation between youth organizations of the three countries.

From experiencing unique cultures and participating in traditional activities, students have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and understanding of each other's country and people.

The success of this event is expected in the spirit of solidarity, cultural exchange, and friendship of students from three countries. At the same time, it has also aroused awareness of environmental protection and volunteering for the community among young people.
