President and CEO of Korean Shinhan Bank awarded medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations”
(Vietpeace) President and CEO of Korean Shinhan Bank Mr. Suh Jin Won was awarded the noble medal of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) in recognition of his contribution to promoting friendship and cooperations between Vietnam and Korea. The ceremony on awarding the medal was held at the VUFO’s headquarters on March 4th in Hanoi.
Operating in Vietnam since 1982, Shinhan Bank has greatly contributed to the enhancement of economic relations between the two countries, paid much attention to activities of charity and humanity for the community, and regularly presented poor children treated at hospitals, orphans and solitary elderly people with valuable gifts. Shinhan Bank has, since 2009, funded billions VND to a number of schools, colleges and universities in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Ba Ria – Vung Tau… for building new classrooms, providing teaching and learning equipments, and awarding scholarships.
VUFO’s President Mr. Vu Xuan Hong highly appreciated the contributions of Shinhan Bank and Mr. Suh Jin Won himself to the enhancement of friendship and cooperation relations between the peoples of the two countries, especially in the fields of education and charity. Mr. Vu Xuan Hong hoped that Shinhan Bank will continue supporting and enhancing friendship and cooperation relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Mr. Suh Jin Won expressed sincere thanks to the VUFO and his pride to receive the noble medal of VUFO, and said he will do the best to further enhance the bank’s social responsibility in Vietnam, to be a sustainable bridge to promote the relations of economic exchange and friendship between the two countries./.
