AFC Dream Asia Awards to FFAV

“Football for All in Vietnam” (FFAV) is honored to receive the Dream Asia Awards 2017 by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the NGO and Individual Category.

The Dream Asia Award is aimed to promote and raise awareness about social issues and the power of the game as a fantastic tool for change. This award is also a chance for AFC to honor organizations and individuals who have shown exemplary dedication to delivery social responsibilities initiatives and have positive contributions for developing football movement in Asia.

This is the second time FFAV receives this precious award from AFC since the first time in 2015.

Football for All in Vietnam” (FFAV) is honored to receive the Dream Asia Awards 2017 by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the NGO for the second time

“After 14 years of operation in Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) acknowledges the contributions of FFAV for football movement in Thua Thien Hue as well as in the whole nation. FFAV model isn’t only successful in number of established football clubs, number of children who involved in football, and number of adults who were trained but also in teaching life-skills for children through football activities. This has a positive effect in the process of personality formation for children. VFF believes the success of FFAV is the premise to develop school football nationwide as well as provide human resource for professional football”, Secretary-General of VFF Mr. Le Hoai Anh said.

“We are deeply honored to receive this award one more time. The acknowledgement of AFC by awarding our organization the Dream Asia Awards asserts the values which FFAV has created in football movement. It also shows that role of people who built a solid precedent for the football movement is known and recognized”, said Anders Krystad – FFAV advisor – who has built a strong foundation for FFAV before handing over to the Vietnamese leadership.

Together with the award for organization in the NGO category, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong, director of FFAV, is also honored to receive Award for individual who has excellent contribution for football movement by AFC.

“It is my honor to receive this precious award from AFC. For me, this is not only prize for myself but also for my friends and individuals who have contributed for the success of organization. On this occasion, I would like to say thank you to all individuals, organizations, and all members of FFAV family for going together in years in Vietnam. Without commitments and contributions from local government, partners, donors, commercial companies, and non-government organizations, it would be hard for FFAV to succeed. This is like inevitable result in the king sport football, you cannot win alone in the game without your teammates. This award is great encouragement for me as well as FFAV to try and work harder in developing football movement and creating more playgrounds for children and teenagers, especially for girls and disadvantaged children”, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong, the director of FFAV project shared.

The AFC Dream Asia Awards 2017 is held on July 20th in Hongkong.

FFAV was initiated by The Football Association of Norway (NFF) and now it is well co-operated with Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in order to build grassroots football model in Thua Thien Hue province. From there, this model is hoped to be replicated nationwide. FFAV also co-operates with local and foreign governments to improve quality of activities in schools through football clubs and applying methods, values, and principles of FFAV.

FFAV works to develop children’s non-competitive grassroots football for 6 to 15-year-old children. FFAV especially focuses to disadvantaged children as well as promotes the development of women’s football. FFAV uses football activities as a tool to integrate fundamental life skill activities so they can have a useful playground to balance between learning and playing. This would help children develop comprehensively.

Since the project started operating in 2003 in Thua Thien Hue province, until now, FFAV has established 184 football clubs with the participations of more than 17,000 children in 1,541 football clubs.
