At the reception, Mr. Hong warmly welcomed the delegation having a working visit in Vietnam. TVFA and the Vietnam – Thailand Friendship Organization (VTFA) have played a significant role in the process of building Vietnam – Thailand Strategic Partnership and strengthening solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, he stressed.
Mr. Hong also made an introduction of the people-to-people diplomacy, organization and tasks of VUFO, and VTFA.
Currently, VTFA has 18 affiliated organizations in cities and provinces nationwide. Mr. Hong wished the Thailand – Vietnam Friendship Association will have its affiliated organizations in Thai provinces in order to further promote solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.
Mr. Hong put forward initiatives that the two sides in coordination organise Vietnam – Thailand people’s friendship festivals, seminars and conferences among associations of Vietnam and ASEAN countries.
Mr. Prachuab Chiyasan acclaimed Mr. Hong’s initiatives and agreed to build action plans between the two Associations.
Mr. Prachuab Chiyasan informed that the Thailand – Vietnam Friendship Association is going to hold a seminar on TVFA’s direction and action plan in the context of development of the bilateral relation to Strategic Partnership. He suggested Vietnam sends a delegation of VTFA to the seminar.
TVFA delegation paid a working visit to Vietnam from 11th – 13th September. The delegation would pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung and work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, VUFO, VTFA and Hanoi VTFA.
